Terrorists and money-launderers know the gaps in local law enforcement environments exceptionally well and they tend to carry multiple identities to move about from one country to another, or to move around using public transportation systems. The DataSCOUT™ platform provides a solution for government law enforcement agencies and private sector compliance with crime or fraud prevention discovery needs based on an off-the-shelf server with a database environment that can be built typically within a week or two. The server can be hooked up into an Internet or Intranet environment, and this solution can be deployed in several complementary approaches tailored to local needs and environment:

Telephone based: Here critical data is accepted over a telephone to be Matched against a central Database and returned with decisions for further action steps. The data is standardized, a number of Phonetic-Key(s) based on a proprietary Phonetic algorithm are created to facilitate the search, and the Database is searched. This approach is useful for remote locations where computers and Internet access might not be available. With telephone being ubiquitous today this approach is implementable in all remote environments for organizing the fight against crimes and terrorism.

Internet based: Here critical data is accepted over the Internet connected to laptops or PCs. The data is standardized, a number of Phonetic-Key(s) based on a proprietary Phonetic algorithm are created to facilitate the search and the Database is searched. This approach is useful at Airports, Police Stations, Immigration checkpoints and all offices connected to the Internet backbone.

Back-office batch processing: Here batch files from various sources are matched to watch list databases at a central location in an overnight or instant process. Reports can be sent by e-mail or to any remote web site, and CIANT is able to provide such services remotely from the US or India over the Internet. When such solutions need to be deployed rapidly, and/or when investments in new hardware are not practical by any new user, remote “instant match” services from CIANT are a valuable option to consider. Else, platform can be installed in any back-office.
